Tumblr: Expanding my technologically limited world...
Me: I didn't want to text you too much while you were driving.
Steph: It's okay, I have Siri.
Me: (Thinking) Oh! So that's the thing that won't tell you where to get an abortion...something you talk into...thank you Tumblr!

Cooking with executive dysfunction! My own...
[Trigger warning: Detailed discussion of eating habits]
Since this is partially a food blog, I thought I’d share my own food manifesto.
No judgments.
Trust yourself and give yourself some credit!
Shop after 9pm and buy as much food as possible per trip.
Limit meal choices.
Take it “one day at a time”.
No food is cheap AND easy to make AND very tasty AND eco-friendly AND...

Gender...Sigh.
I was going to write a whole manifesto about my gender, but it can basically be summarized like this: My sexuality is not fluid at all. But it seems like my gender is. Once I heard about asexuality, it took me around six months to label myself as such. But meanwhile, I’ve been questioning my gender for at least 6 years. If there was a gender box into which I neatly fit, I think I...
You Know You Are a Vegan When...
youknowyouareaveganwhen:
other guys call you “gay” for being vegan and say: “real men eat meat”
then you are like, rewind, and saying “real men eat meat” doesn’t sound gay to you? homophobic ignorant morons.
Oh my goodness, this is excellent.

Functioning labels and meaning →
theskinofourteeth:
I came to understand something, what people really mean by high- and low-functioning. It’s not about vocal skills or IQ scores, as I’ve seen proposed in the Autism communities, or frequency of symptoms and self-harming behaviour, as defined by the Global Assessment of Functionality. It’s about visibility. Think about it; that’s what really is meant when people label...

Rule for things sewn onto clothing
If you want/need the thing (ie, a button), it will fall off.
If you don’t want/need the thing (ie, a bizarre little pocket), it will have 10,000 layers of thread and be impossible to remove.

That awkward moment
when you’ve introduced two friends, and now you’re realizing that they’re better friends with each other than they are with you.
I don’t have the perfect gif for this situation, though. Sad.

Seriously, I want to know...
…why language learning programs make you say such weird phrases. These are the funniest I’ve heard so far:
What are you going to drink?
3 beers.
In only 8 minutes?
In 7 or 8 minutes. I like beer.
And:
I want a cold sandwich…and I want 10 pesos.
Why?
Because I don’t have much money, and I don’t have much time.
Okay, that sounds like you’re going to...

Horse Meat Slaughter: Why It's Likely Coming Back... →
herbivoresdelight:
Not that it’s any worse than killing any other animal for food, but horses?
What I really don’t get is how this is seen as a job-creation solution. Slaughterhouse jobs are one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. They aren’t good-paying jobs, and there’s extremely high turnover. A lot of slaughterhouse workers are undocumented, so they risk...
#occupywallstreet: The Devil Himself Is Frightened... →
liberalsarecool:
“I’m so scared of this anti-Wall Street effort. I’m frightened to death.” — GOP strategist Frank Luntz, quoted by Yahoo News, noting the Occupy Wall Street protests are “having an impact on what the American people think of capitalism.”
Know your enemy. Here are…
Also, Luntz was one of the major players in getting people to switch from the term “global...
